[Hey, Okuyasu. At this point, you're probably already used to seeing Izuku pop in to check on Iida's statue in the mornings. Just like all the other times, Izuku knocks on the door, looking at Okuyasu hopefully when he answers.]

Any changes?

[pursestrings]

[It's quiet, now that Iida is, well, a statue for the time being. Okuyasu doesn't think about it much except for when he leaves his room and no one is home to give him lip for skipping his chores or slamming doors or whatever - because Iida is a goddamn statue. It's lonely, if he has to admit it; living with people besides his troubling family members is livelier than anything he's had before, so... well.

It is what it is. Izuku coming around is actually a relief, not that he says it, but its probably obvious in the way he perks up a little more each time. He does it now, just before he shakes his head.]

Nah. I've been watching for hand chops, [he does a dang hand chop, for emphasis] but no dice.

[inheritance]

[A beautiful hand chop, Okuyasu. Iida would be so proud.]

That's...okay. [It's really not, but thanks to Vriska, at least Izuku knows that Iida will be turning back eventually. He just needs to be more patient.] I guess I'll just dust him off while I'm here.

[pursestrings]

[Dust him off... so awkward.]

Watch out for his new look, I guess. [The assorted flower crowns, courtesy of Ochako and Todoroki.] ...You wanna hang out and wait for a little while? Just in case, I dunno, something does happen...

[inheritance]

I'd like that, if you don't mind. [With another distracted, but grateful smile, Izuku makes a beeline for his friend-turned-statue.

After Iida's been sufficiently dusted, and the flower crowns rearranged to his liking, Izuku turns his attention back to Okuyasu.]

It's been a lot quieter without him around, hasn't it? How have you been, Nijimura-kun?

[pursestrings]

Yeah, nobody's on my ass all day to do chores and speak quietly indoors. [He does another goofy arm chop when he says this last part, but his heart's not in it... It's too quiet now!! But what he says is,]

I'm bored.

[inheritance]

That sounds like him. [Another soft laugh.] At least you know everything will be spotless with Iida-kun around.

If you're bored... we could do something. I mean, I'm here already! [And he doesn't like moping about Iida's current state too much, so it all works out, right?]

[pursestrings]

I guess. I'm no good at that stuff. [But he has been clumsily attempting, for Iida's sake, so there's that. Anyway--]

You wanna hang out? Sure.

[Inwardly, he is delighted. Friendship!!]

[inheritance]

[Friendship!!]

I definitely want to hang out! [Izuku smiles at him warmly.] We haven't really had a chance to do that since we tore up those shirts last time. What did you want to do?

[pursestrings]

[FRIENDSHIP!!!!!]

Hang out here? [What should two very good buds do... hmm.] You like pranks?

[inheritance]

[Izuku chews on his lip, torn between intrigue and hesitation.]

I don't know. I've never pranked anyone before.... depends on what kind of prank it is?

[pursestrings]

[Embrace it, Izuku. Embrace the pranks.]

Just something to mess with Iida for taking so long. Like moving his socks from the left side of the drawer to the right.

[Punchline: this would actually work.]

[inheritance]

[That actually draws a grin out of Izuku, and a bit of a laugh.]

Iida-kun would hate that. [Considering how meticulously he tended to organize his things. Even the many extra pairs of glasses he had back home had their own place on the shelves!

Then, his grin turns a little guilty.] Is it bad, that I kind of want to see the look on his face when he comes back and sees his room?

[pursestrings]

[Now he's getting it!!]

Nah, that's the point. It's not like we're gonna bust up his stuff or anything, just move it around.

[See that? Guilt-free.]

[inheritance]

Okay...! [So there's a playful side to Izuku that's apparently been drawn out now. Naturally, he's a little curious as always and he does kind of want to do this at least once since he's never been on this end of the pranks before.

Besides, it's not like there's any ill-intent!]

Actually, I just got an idea....

[pursestrings]

[Okuyasu will teach him well in the ways of the pranks... this is how teens bond. Already his enthusiasm is promising!!]

Yeah? What you got?

[inheritance]

So, you know how Iida-kun has everything placed exactly to his liking? What if we moved everything just a few inches to the side, so it's like everything is the same, but he won't be able to figure out why something feels off right away?

[The perks of being best friends: you know exactly how to get at them.

That guilty grin stays on his face as he explains it. Sorry, Iida-kun! He'll help you move everything back, he promises!]

[pursestrings]

[No, no, this is genius.]

Oh shit, that's like, crazy detailed. [This must be a hero kid thing... He's honestly impressed.] Hell yeah, let's do that!

[inheritance]

[Izuku does a tiny little fist pump! Pranks, in the name of friendship! He's also just pleased that Okuyasu actually likes his suggestion.]

Okay, let's do it! Between the two of us, it shouldn't take too long to get it set up.
